In case you missed it, this past week has been National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. It’s so important to take a minute and appreciate all of the work that drivers do on a daily basis! In reality, truck drivers should be celebrated 365 days a year because what they do everyday affects our way of life.

Trucking may not always be a visible profession, but all of those drivers out there contribute to 70% of all freight transportation in this country. And just how much freight is 70%? Truck drivers move around 11 billion tons of freight per year. Think about all of the trucks out on the road day-to-day. Now think of all of the goods and means of production being utilized on a daily basis. Without trucking, most of that would not be readily available.

Truck driving is such an important occupation that there are 3.5 million truck drivers in the United States alone. In fact, this line of work is the most popular profession in 29 states! This includes California, Texas, Georgia, Illinois, and Tennessee where we have markets available to drivers on our platform.

With DrayNow, owner operators can find available freight in their area that needs to be hauled. Once they get on the marketplace and start picking things up, they have another tool in their kit to increase business.

Of the millions of truckers in the country, there are 350,000 of them that are owner operators.
